Environmental justice in Asheville is analyzed based on disparities in health outcomes between African American and white people. Despite the repeal of recognizable racist policies, there still exist racial inequities in health outcomes. The physical environment often impacts peoples’ level of health, and unequal access to environmental “goods” can be detrimental to health outcomes in minority communities.
